Improving your pull-ups
You'll hear a lot about fitness for "baby boomers" these days, and much of it is garbage!
I hate to see very capable people in their sixties being "trained" by so-called "personal trainers" who don't have a clue about what truly can be achieved by those in this age group.
I'm 63 years old, I know what I can do and what many others can do with the right kind of training.
It's much more than doing bicep curls with a 5lb dumbbells (and having a spotter for it, no less)!
In this block of instruction you'll learn how to really train these folks, who I choose to call master athletes, not baby boomers.
If you are a trainer or a coach, you'll learn how to program for serious strength gains for your clients.
If you are a master athlete, you'll learn what you are truly capable of in a "hands-on" setting.
Safety is always important, as is correct technique, but so is loading.
Many people train much to light, to the point of being rediculous.
Learn how to train master athletes from someone who actually is one!

Noah Jeffries--Instructor

Noah has been coached in Strongman training throughout his life by his Dad, Bud Jeffries. His level of experience and knowledge are well beyond his years.
Noah is crazy strong and will share insights about

Mental Bio-Locks - A system of reprogramming your mind for training and life success:

Mental Bio-Locks is the process of teaching yourself how to think while training.  This is transferable to other areas of life and revolves off a system of mental tricks to make your body do what you intend for it to do instead of its instinctive path.  In short - everyone wants to be a race car driver, but the big mistake they make is spending all of their time working on their car instead of learning of how to drive.  You can have the fastest car in the world, but if you don't know how to drive it chances are, someone who knows how to drive will beat you in a Prius and you yourself will crash and burn.

Short Steel Bending and Scrolling to build phenomenal grips for martial arts and functional strength. Short steel bending is a great way to visibly monitor your gains in wrist, hand and grip strength.  Not only to monitor it, but to increase it exponentially for out of this world grip and mental focus to apply across all your training endeavors.  The gains from this type of training build a grip that is nearly impossible to break and in the martial arts world this is paramount.  From a functional strength perspective, steel bending builds hands, wrists, forearms and grip that is necessary and healthy for optimum longevity and mobility.
  • Steel scrolling is an incredible way to train in itself.  It's essentially one long rep isometric and if you don't already do some form of cross training, which teaches you how to breath and have cardio strength while under duress, steel scrolling is a powerful way hone this skill set.  In the world of martial arts your focus is to last as long as possible with the greatest strength, hold, endurance and aerobic capacity.  Steel scrolling builds all these facets through one long isometric movement.  During this session we will have hands-on learning.  I will teach you how to focus, control, and breath-through to bending and scrolling steel even if you think it impossible.

    Eric Guttmann-Instructor

Eric Guttmann is an Active Duty Naval Officer and the creator of Extreme Military Fitness. Since its inception in 2009 Extreme Military Fitness has provided effective training programs for busy professionals and gym owners worldwide, including Cross Fit Gulf Coast in Sarasota, FL. Eric’s courses and programs have received positive reviews from the likes of Bud Jeffries, Logan Christopher, and Peter Ragnar.
Through his military experience Eric started to focus on ways to “Live as Long as You Can as Best as You Can” because when people go to war some do not return. Further, the rigors of military life also take their toll on the body and many servicemen jokingly refer to themselves as being “broken” when they take too many hard parachute jumps and injure their ankles/knees or when the rigors of flying ground many a naval aviator due to lower back problems.
This led to focusing as much time on recovery as on training. One of the key areas he focused on was joint mobility which helped him heal a ligament sprain that was supposed to take 18 months to heal in one week. After multiple healings and multiple requests to share his mobility routine with others he created the FULL Mobility DVD and is frequently sought after in Training and Anti-Aging seminars to teach this system. Now he is incorporating Vestibular Reset drills for even greater results that make you grow younger by fixing gaps in your brain/body movement patterns.
Eric has trained in Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Chen Style Taijiquan, Hung Gar, and is a Commando Krav Maga instructor, Elite Combat Fitness Instructor, Elite Kettlebell Instructor. Eric has also received specialized military training in aviation, SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape), and Electronic Warfare.
Eric considers himself a human guinea pig and is constantly experimenting on himself and his trainees by designing and implementing cutting edge training and restorative programs combining the best of American, Israeli, Russian, and Eastern training and healing techniques. The best of the best of these “experiments” become the books and courses that are offered at www.ericguttmann.com

      Here's what you'll learn:
      * A 15 minute vestibular reset drill incoporating Spiderman Crawls, breath holds, and an Apache training technique to rejuvenate body and mind and get you ready for anything
      * The 3 best Double KB exercises for strength and the 1 gymnastic move you can do with you kettlebells for total body mastery
      * How to use a medicine ball to explosively train your anterior chain, posterior chain, and rotational component
      * A mental toughness drill that will teach you to overcome challenges in the gym and in life

      Joy Byxbee--Instructor

I live for the unconventional-growing up in Southern California ( Long Beach) my parents encouraged me to climb trees, scramble over the cliffs at Laguna Beach, learn Japanese in kindergarten, pursue ballet and boxing at the same time-this early influence kept feeding my desire to learn more about the world around me, and how other cultures view what it is to be a warrior as well as a woman. Coaching others to get back into the art of moving well and being healthy physically as well as mentally is a natural fit for me. I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, A CF Kettlebell/Endurance coach, Striking/MMA, and an Underground Strength Coach. I own Valkyrie Conditioning, a hybrid fight training program that is in state of constant evolution through my wonderful mentors both in the world of Sport Fighting and Strength.
